WELCOME TO
THE ALS ASSOCIATION - WISCONSIN CHAPTER

The Chapter strives to provide hope through research and support through caring to all persons affected by ALS in the State of Wisconsin. At this time services cannot be provided in full due to geographic limitations; however, regardless of where you live in the state, Chapter Executive Director Melanie Roach Bekos, Chapter Patient Services Director Lori Banker-Horner, Patient Services Coordinator Robin Stanczyk, and Office Manager Jenny Evan are available to answer questions, provide information and direct you to resources throughout the state. We are here to help you!

UPCOMING WALKS

Save the dates for the 2008 Walks to Defeat ALS in Wisconsin.  Walks will be held in Platteville, Appleton, Milwaukee and Racine.

A list of all 2008 Walks is available by clicking the Walk to Defeat ALS icon on the left. Registration pages for the 2008 Walks are available through that page or at http://walkwi.alsa.org.

 PATIENT SERVICES NEWS

The Chapter is very pleased to announce that it has added another member to the Patient Services Department!

Robin Stanczyk, RN, has joined the Chapter as Patient Services Coordinator effective June 16, 2008.  Robin will be working part-time assisting Chapter families with locating resources and information by phone, email and in-home visits.  Robin also will be present at the Froedtert and VA ALS Clinics and support groups.

Due to the Chapter's significant growth in recent years, expanding the Patient Services Staff was a priority.  Robin's hiring will provide extra support and the opportunity for the Chapter to develop new and much needed programming for Chapter families.

And don't worry about Lori!  Lori Banker-Horner has taken the position of Patient Services Director, where she will continue to work with patients and families, but also will devote time to creating and developing those new programs.

Welcome, Robin!

As always, if you have any questions or concerns or are in need of resources or support, please call the Chapter's Patient Services Line -- (414)  817-1541.
