Jane Kowalsky, MSW
Wisconsin Chapter Patient Services
Jane Kowalsky, M.S.W. joined the ALS Association - Wisconsin Chapter in October 2009 as a Social Worker and also is a team member with the Certified ALS Center at Froedtert Hospital/Medical College of Wisconsin. Jane is originally from Kenosha, Wisconsin and has lived in the greater Milwaukee area since 1994. She received her Bachelors of Social Work in 2008 and Masters of Social Work in 2009 from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee.
Jane’s first exposure to ALS came during her educational field experiences. Through these opportunities, she has learned that there are no words to explain this disease and every patient is unique. There is no definitive roadmap to follow as the disease progresses and this can be the most challenging factor to deal with. Jane’s role is to help individuals and their families meet these challenges.
Jane provides psychosocial support services for individuals with ALS and their families through the Chapter and as a Clinic Team member. She works closely with individuals with ALS and their support networks to provide needed resources and referrals. Jane is the co-facilitator for the Milwaukee Area ALS Support Group and the Milwaukee Area Caregiver Group. Jane also works closely with Chapter Patient Services in special programming and future program development. |
