Racin' for a Cure
WISCONSIN CHAPTER JOINS NASCAR AGENT AND DRIVER RACIN' FOR A CURE
In 2007, Fort Atkinson resident and NASCAR fan Scott Pfeiffer was fulfilling his dream as the agent for up and coming driver Derek Thorn.  In May, however, his dream year took a terrible turn, as he was diagnosed with ALS.

Scott decided to fight back, creating a new racing team for purposes of raising ALS awareness and funds for ALS research.  With Derek on board as his driver and friend Shawn Keep as providing financial support, the team “Racin’ For a Cure” was born.

Scott presented his proposal to Wisconsin Chapter representatives in early 2008 and the Chapter quickly joined his team.  The team race car bears the Wisconsin Chapter logo and funds donated to Racin’ For a Cure are sent to the Chapter office.

The Racin’ For a Cure team has a goal of raising $1 million by the end of 2008.  All proceeds from donations received and merchandise sold through the Racin’ For a Cure website support The ALS Association’s research programs. In addition, Keep has generously provided all of the team merchandise at cost through his promotional items company, PromoGiant, which will help to maximize the funds raised.
